This makes us sad - you want your candle to look like this after burning!
The best way to prevent tunneling is to let your candle burn for around 2 hours the first time you light it, or long enough to allow for an evenly melted wax pool across the top. The wider the candle, the longer you should burn for this effect ( but never burn for more than 4 hours at a time!). Keeping the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch before each burn is a must.
